Configuring continuing education courses (CE) is a multi-step process. There are two major components to managing courses: Module and Class/Course. These are managed and created in the Training Configuration Portal: https://my.apb360.com/qualification-management/training-configuration-portal/
Training modules are where you configure proficiency credit hours (not firearm course proficiencies), continuing education credit hours, upload specific training module class documents and associate the module to an overall training category. The modules you create become part of the course assembly, similar to topics. During course configuration, you will select one or more modules which drive the overall credit hours awarded to a passing student.
Course – Where it all comes together.
A training course is a compilation of training modules and classes, assembled into a comprehensive course for scheduling or awarding. During this process you can schedule the date and time of the course, select learning modules & associated instructors, add additional descriptions and notes, estimated course cost, enrollment capacity, create a secure instructor access pin code (optional) and finally configure the location. You may also create Training Modules on the fly here. The course you create in this section will be available (so long as it is not disabled) to award credits and scores to anyone on your roster at any time administratively. This action can be found on the portal page in a section called “Bulk Course Assignments”
In the event to elect to schedule a course, the course will appear on the “Class/Course Calendar of Events” link under the “Train” menu.
Awarding Credit Hours – Recording Attendance
Awarding and scoring courses is accomplished in three ways:
- Using the calendar and the RSVP system to schedule attendees, and then using the instructor PIN code on the “Manage Class” link found just under the course details.
- Using the Bulk Course Assignment link (found on the training portal page), selecting a course and one or more employees and entering a date. These are recorded as a “Pass”.
- Lastly, using the Roster and then visiting the employee “Profile”. Here you can open the “Training Management System” and select a single course, date, pass/fail condition, score, notes as well as capture an instructor signature.
