Initial Organization Properties
Be sure to check your Main Settings to be sure you have entered an Organization Name and your FFL License# if applicable. If you are law enforcement or a military user, you do not need to enter an FFL license, however, we recommend you enter “NA”.
Upload a logo, preferably a transparent png or gif as well for site branding when you generate your asset logbook.
Setting up locations and ranges
You will need to have at least one location for stocking, and at least one location for a range. You can find these two configuration screens under Settings.
Configuring Manufacturers, Models, Types, Calibers, and Lengths
The ideal way to begin creating database records is to use the “Create Manufacturer Models” menu item, found under Settings.
Begin by searching the FFL Manufacturer of a firearm, this process will make inquiries to the BATFE database of manufacturers and populate the “The Manufacturer Of Record Name” field with the complete licensee name and business. This is often more information that you need, feel free to shorten the name, however, make sure the name is absolutely reflective of the manufacturer.
The remainder of the fields are self-explanatory,
If you have imported your logbook entries from another system or format, you may find you already have sufficient database information to classify and assign a serialized asset.
